Last week I had my very first interview with an expert, and although this expert field was not directly involved in the topic of my interest, blockchain, I was able to learn so much and gain so much from speaking with her. My interview was with Ms. Tia Nayars, she was a very open and outgoing lady who was willing to help as much as she could, and am therefore really glad she was my first interviewee. In addition, Since she was incredibly easy to speak to I felt that conversing and flow became better with her.

To give a little background, Ms. Tia Nayars is a serial entrepreneur who is currently the CEO of Wildflower Insight, which is a company that is based on helping people's mental health, standard health (masks), and helping women around the world. From this interview, I want to receive information regarding the process of becoming an entrepreneur and what inspired her to be an entrepreneur. I also wanted to learn how she came up with business ideas, the finances, and the workload. And in general, I wanted to know her story. And after speaking with her I answered all these questions and learned more.

The first thing we spoke about was her story, Ms. Nayars was a smart lady who went to college for multiple things and completed multiple different classes, but found her passion in communication. After college, she was offered to work at multiple high-end locations and to my surprise, she turned them all down to work for free for a CEO of a company, there she gained experience as she shadowed the CEO, with email writing, meeting notes, making arrangement and through this made connections. From this experience, she had learned the majority of the business information she needed to know and was ready to be successful on her own. She later worked at a company where she managed finances and was managing the company well, and while she worked there she experienced mistreatment and therefore left the extremely well-paying company, regardless of possibly making a few million dollars extra in pocket money. Since then she has been working to bring awareness to women all over the world about mistreatment and such, hence she started wildflower insight. I found this extremely inspiring how she took what she struggled with and is trying to help others facing the same.

One key thing I had specifically learned from her was the key to networking. She stated that if you could figure out what the other person needed in 10 minutes of the meeting, and could help them in some way, you have succeeded in connecting with that person. This is because if you are able to help the person they are more likely to reach back out to you and keep in contact with you. I found this extremely useful because I who struggle with networking can use this technique to improve. She also spoke about the importance of thank you letters, and how a small email, letter, or note can go a long way and can help build a positive relationship. Lastly, she explained how starting a business is not easy and states that although it seems easy and fun all the time, it is not. She explained how for almost months she would get only a few 2-3 hours of sleep because she was having meetings with people in America, then after would go on a meeting with India, then china, etc. every day leaving her a few hours for sleep and such. From this, I learned that being an entrepreneur is extremely work-heavy but also very rewarding.

In conclusion, Speaking with Ms. Nayars taught me so much and I am forever grateful for the time and energy she spared for me.
